Musée de la Mode et du Costume

Arles, France

The new cultural landmark in the sun-drenched city of Arles marks the seventh museum by Fragonard Parfumer, reflecting the House’s Provencal spirit and rare passion to preserve a marvellous part of Arlesian heritage.

Housed within the beautifully renovated Hôtel Bouchard de Bussy, the new Museum unveils priceless pieces from the impressive fashion and costume collection of the Pascal family, while also showcasing unique items from the Costa family collection.

On this occasion, MUEVO was proud to bring to life the maximalist scenography envisioned by Studio KO, in collaboration with the architectural firm NDA – Nathalie d’Artigues, on the building’s historic restoration. In this context, we engineered a number of room-integrated showcases, as well as a few more bespoke displays to highlight this dazzling costume collection.

Inaugurated in 2025, the Musée de la Mode et du Costume in Arles presents the fashion traditions of the French Mediterranean from the 18th century onwards under the light of the contemporary world, within the renewed classic allure of the Hôtel.

As described by Litza Georgopoulos for Le Monde: “The garments are placed on pedestals, displayed in niches, or staged as if floating in discreet showcases, along a winding path recounting three hundred years of costume history.”
